NOT NOW DARLING

by Ray Cooney & John Chapman

Directed by Rob Goll

Arnold, Gilbert and Maude are partners in a prestigious firm of Mayfair furriers. Maude, Gilbert’s wife, is on holiday in Monte-Carlo, and while she is away Gilbert intends to play!  In order to secure a night of passion with Janie, an exotic strip-tease artiste, he claims to  have ‘evolved a scheme of infinite subtlety and considerable brilliance’: Janie wants a £5,000 mink coat; Gilbert will sell the coat to Janie’s husband, Harry, for the knock-down price of £500 while he pays the remaining £4,500 himself. Harry does indeed buy the coat… not for his wife, but for his curvaceous secretary and mistress Sue.

Gilbert’s plot has misfired and from there on in the plot develops wildly: the unwilling Arnold and the diligent Miss Tipdale become drawn in to Gilbert’s ‘erotic intrigue’; Maude returns home early; Harry seems to have misplaced his secretary; and Janie and Sue seem to have misplaced their clothes…

A SLICE OF SATURDAY NIGHT

by The Heather Brothers

Directed by David Price,  Musically Directed by David Hails

It's Saturday night at the provincial "Club A-Go-Go" and the blokes and birds are on the pull.  The girls, chalk-faced and pale lipped are desperate to look like Twiggy, Sandy Shaw or Dusty Springfield, the lads, would-be Beatles.  However, beneath the girls' skimpy Mary Quant copied dresses beat virginal Barbara Cartland hearts,..

... while inside the lads' hipster trousers lurk the impulses which have driven adolescents to distraction since the dawn of time.

Watched over by ageing rocker Eric ‘Rubber-legs’ De Vene, the club's seen-it-all, done-it-all owner, we follow them as they wend their way through teenage sexual mores as rigid and predictable as any New Guinea tribesman's initiation rites.

Performances: 3rd - 7th July 2012

Auditions: Sunday 11th March 2012
